Early Thursday morning, the Browns interviewed Christian Jones, the current New York Giants assistant quarterback coach, for their vacant quarterback coach position. The Browns have not had a coach with that title since 2022.

Jones started his career on the playing field, as most coaches do. He played wide receiver for the Northwestern Huskies from 2011-2015. In 51 games, he caught 128 passes for 1,509 yards and eight touchdowns. Just 2 years later, Jones would find himself back with Northwestern as a coaching intern, working with the OL for the 2017 season. In 2018, Jones was hired as an offensive graduate assistant by the University of Texas, where he worked primarily with the wide receivers and tight ends. Jones helped lead the Longhorns to an 11-4 season, where the offense averaged 31.4 PPG.

He joined the NFL in 2019 as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, where he spent three seasons on staff in multiple roles. In 2022, he was hired by the New York Giants as an offensive assistant and was later named the assistant quarterbacks coach in the offseason before the 2023 season.
